At a 3 p.m. service performed by the Rev. Samuel D. Robbins at the Congregational Church on June 28, 1947, Miss Janet G. Kunze, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kunze of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of James E. Hauge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hauge of Neillsville. It was a single ring ceremony, and the bride’s father gave her in marriage. The church was decorated with baskets of peonies and other cut flowers.

The bride’s gown was of frosted ninon with a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves. The full gathered skirt ended in a train and her fingertip veil was caught in a tiara of orange blossoms. The dress was buttoned in back from the neck to the waist. Her flowers were lilies and roses.

The bride’s sister, Miss Dorothy Kunze, as maid of honor, wore a dress of white chiffon with short sleeves. Miss Ruth Kunze, sister of the bride, and Miss Helen Hauge of Madison, the groom’s sister, bridesmaids, wore similar dresses of yellow and Aqua chiffon, respectively. Al three attendants wore matching poke bonnets, trimmed with gardenias, and carried similar bouquets of roses to match their dresses.

The groom was attended by Donald Kunze, brother of the bride. The ushers were John Kleckner and Martin Nesbit.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Jess Scott at the piano. She played Wagner’s wedding march for the processional and Mendelssohn’s "Wedding March" as the wedding party left the altar. The ceremony was preceded by piano selections, including Liszt’s "Liebestraum." Walter Keller, tenor, sang "Because."

Friends of the couple were entertained at a reception at the church immediately after the ceremony and that evening the bridal party and their families were served a wedding supper at the home of the bride’s parents.

Mr. and Mrs. Hauge will spend a two week wedding trip in the black Hills of South Dakota and other points west. They will reside at 226 South Court St., Neillsville,

The bride was graduated from the Neillsville High School with the class of 1944 and was employed in Madison for a time. She has recently worked at the Merchants Hotel, Neillsville. The groom was graduated from the Neillsville High School with the class of 1942 and served 2 ½ years in the army, 1 ½ years of that time being in overseas duty. He is now in business with his father.
